Program Description

This exciting Administrative Dental Assistant Program will help students gain entrance into the Administrative Dental Assistant career path. This program will provide you with the essential skills needed to perform as a professional dental staff member and work on behalf of the patient as well as the dentist. You will build effective communication skills and gain knowledge needed to assist dentists with common dental administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, fee collection, insurance billing and accounts payable. This course will also provide you with comprehensive instruction with DENTRIX (one of the most popular and commonly used dental software’s). You will have access to the DENTRIX G4 software that will provide you with sample practice opportunities. You can use this software to engage in activities and tasks that you would perform in an actual dental practice and use it to demonstrate your skills. Upon successful completion of this program, you’ll:

  • Communicate effectively with patients and coworkers
  • Relate to patients in a professional, caring manner
  • Understand teamwork in the dental office
  • Maintain quality patient records
  • Understand information management in the dental office
  • Become proficient with scheduling and recall systems

Graduates of this program may find entry-level employment in a dental clinic or private dental office as a Dental Administrative Assistant, Treatment Coordinator, Insurance Billing Coordinator, Bookkeeper, etc.

Admission Requirements

Any person who has attained a High School Diploma or GED High School Equivalency Certificate is eligible to attend Academy for Dental Assisting, subject to personal interview. All applicants must exhibit a proper willingness and enthusiasm to learn the art of dental assisting.
Admissions at Academy for Dental Assisting are conducted throughout the year. Those applicants who apply during the course of class training will be given first consideration to be enrolled in the next course. New classes will start approximately every eleven (11) weeks.

Class Schedule and Enrollments

The primary enrollment period is during the open house (approximately 3 weeks prior to the class start date). However, enrollment is continuous right up until the start of the first scheduled class.
